Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States who spoke this quote at his alma mater, Harvard University, in 1905. He served as Vice-President until William McKinley was assassinated in 1901 when Roosevelt began his term as president until 1909. Conservation was a major focus and established many national parks and forests. He died in 1919 at age 60 years.
